About LottoDashboard
Welcome to LottoDashboard, a comprehensive analytical dashboard for the UK National Lottery (Lotto). This tool was created to provide clean, accessible visualization and data analysis of UK lottery results spanning from the inaugural draw in November 1994 up to the current day.
How It Works
This web application consumes historical UK lottery results directly from local files in the project workspace. Because lottery datasets are relatively lightweight, the application pulls all years of draw data into the browser at startup. This enables you to search, filter, and calculate statistics instantaneously with zero server lag.
Statistical Note: The 49 vs 59 Rule
Did you know? In October 2015, the UK Lotto underwent a significant format change:
- 1994 – Oct 2015: 49 balls in play (players selected 6 numbers from 49).
- Oct 2015 – Present: 59 balls in play (players select 6 numbers from 59).
As a result, numbers 50 through 59 have had far fewer draws to appear in than numbers 1 through 49. This website's analytical tools account for this in the percentages and overdue stats, giving you a fairer breakdown of frequencies relative to when the number was actually available in the lottery drum.
Winning Odds and Prizes
The UK Lotto game requires players to choose 6 numbers from 1 to 59. The table below lists the winning tiers, typical prize payouts, and the mathematical odds of winning for a single round entry:
| Match Tier | Typical Prize | Odds of Winning |
|---|---|---|
| Match 6 | Jackpot (Estimated £2M–£20M) | 1 in 45,057,474 |
| Match 5 + Bonus | £1,000,000 | 1 in 7,509,579 |
| Match 5 | £1,750 | 1 in 144,415 |
| Match 4 | £140 | 1 in 2,180 |
| Match 3 | £30 | 1 in 97 |
| Match 2 | Free Lucky Dip (Worth £2) | 1 in 10.3 |
